About My Practice
You may wish to untangle immediate challenges (e.g., relationship issues, parenting, career concerns), uncomfortable symptoms (e.g., anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, eating disorders) and/or issues that have existed for a very long time that seem to reflect early life experiences. I try to make a safe space for your mind and heart to emerge, evolve and become more integrated. I consider our work akin to a journey.
I have worked with children, adults and families since the mid 80’s. Over the years I have worked in many different and unique settings and have been shaped by this exposure. I understand that your perspective comes from a lifetime of experiences. I use compassion, thoughtfulness and my extensive training in my daily work when listening to you.
Experience and Training
I am a well-trained psychologist and psychoanalyst with over 20+ years of clinical experience working with children, adults, couples and families. I have worked in psychiatric hospitals, community mental health settings, dual diagnostic residential treatment programs for children and adults, as a consultant for preschools and elementary schools, and recently primarily in private practice.
I have been licensed since 1991 as a clinical psychologist. In the early 90’s I decided to further the scope and breadth of my experience and knowledge and understanding of the unconscious with 5+ years of study of psychoanalysis. I sensed that all that I knew, and understood, could be further augmented by the ability to go deeper inside of myself and with my patients.
Location
My main office is on Millwood Avenue in Mill Valley. I work in the Presidio, in San Francisco on Mondays.
