About My Practice

Sometimes emotions can be difficult to bear-sadness, worries about yourself, fears, painful recurrent interactions. I’ve found that working with an understanding professional to explore feelings and expectations you have about yourself and your relationships can be the key to clarifying troubling emotional states. These feelings about yourself and others can cause recurrent painful states, or push us toward self-destructive behaviors. Exploring these feelings in a safe relationship can cause feelings to shift, opening you to new ways of thinking and behaving. This allows for greater flexibility, a better relationship with yourself, and better connections in your life.

 

I am empathic and a clear thinker about psychological difficulties and about how to help people move toward more fulfilling lives.

• Extensive teaching at San Francisco Mental Health training institutions
• I teach 2 ongoing study groups for psychotherapists who want to learn more about conducting psychotherapy
• Public speaking on "Conflict in Couples" and "Conflict in Couples with Young Children", at numerous Bay Area venues
