About My Practice

I enjoy working with curious, motivated, intelligent people. We'll first identify what's troubling you and then work toward understanding what the underlying issues are and what to do about them. My goal is to help you make the changes in your life that you desire. I am an experienced therapist who is direct, collaborative and can help you develop more satisfying relationships and move toward reaching your full potential. I am also an R.N. with a medical background that facilitates my comfort in working with individuals in the medical professions or with chronic medical issues.

I have an interest in trauma and have years of experience with individuals who work in law enforcement and have been chronically traumatized as well as with individuals engaged in occupations that require emergency responses to incidents that are traumatic and may cause vulnerability to posttraumatic stress disorder.  I also provide therapeutic help to people who work in the protective services professions.

I am engaging, warm and thoughtful in my style of relating. I also work with couples and individuals who have sexual dysfunction, eating disorders and personality disorders. I have over 20 years of practice and post doctoral experience, which enables me to work with those who are emotionally vulnerable or distressed, in a sensitive, thoughtful, engaging manner.
