About My Practice
Are you worried, sad, scared, or too often mad about your life, work or relationships? Sometimes we can get so caught up in working hard, pleasing others, or even feeling so mad, guilty or worried all the time that we lose touch with our deepest selves. Then we don't know what we really need from life, or how to get it. I bring nearly 25 years of experience and a safe, caring, thoughtful presence to helping you sort out what really matters to you and what to do about it.
It can be really scary to turn to someone else, even an experienced professional for help. But if you have been trying to feel better on your own, and it hasn't worked, that's a sign that something inside you may be getting in your way. Perhaps the burden you are carrying is just too much to try to handle all alone?
Part of my job is to deeply understand what it is like for you to be you. This will help you to not feel so alone as well as to feel stronger and more hopeful about making things better. Together we can discover what you really need, and what might be happening inside you that stops you from being happier. This knowledge, along with the support from our relationship, will give you the clarity and courage to make the most of your life.
I care deeply and passionately about helping people live richer, more satisfying lives. As part of my commitment to this I have been teaching and supervising other therapists for the past 20 years at a variety of locations both locally and nationally. My particular focus is helping other therapists deepen their empathy and understanding to the point where they really can see the world their clients are showing them, as if they are standing in that person’s shoes, looking out through their eyes. And then giving other therapists the tools they need to help someone navigate that world in a more rewarding way.
